Why do we sing songs in Church?
In the temple he found those who were selling oxen and sheep and pigeons,
and the money-changers sitting there. (John 2:14)
In the temple he found those who were selling oxen and sheep and pigeons,
and the money-changers sitting there. (John 2:14)
15 And making a whip of cords, he drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and oxen. And he poured out the coins of the money-changers and overturned their tables. 16 And he told those who sold the pigeons, “Take these things away; do not make my Father’s house a house of trade.” (John 2:15-16)
There are definitely right ways AND wrong ways to worship God.
everything we’re called to do as a church today follows the church in the New Testament.
Everything the church in the New Testament did back then followed or continued the pattern and prophecies from the Old Testament.
“Zeal for your house will consume me.” (John 2:17)
you believed Moses, you would believe me; for he wrote of me. (John 5:46)
17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. Matthew 5:17
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[b] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.
And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20)
Why do we sing songs in Church?
We sing songs to offer sacrifices of praise to God.
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Romans 12:1
Through him (That’s Jesus) then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name. Hebrews 13:15
And you will say in that day: “Give thanks to the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the peoples, proclaim that his name is exalted. “Sing praises to the Lord, for he has done gloriously; let this be made known in all the earth. Shout, and sing for joy, O inhabitant of Zion, for great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel.” Isaiah 12:4-6
We sing songs to offer sacrifices of praise to God.
Praise the Lord! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens!
Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his excellent greatness!
Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp!
Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe!
Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals!
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Psalm 150:1-6
