Week 3

The one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
1 John 4:4

A lie believed as truth will affect you as if it were true.

When (the devil) lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
John 8:44

If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
John 8:36

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who I have been called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand.
Ephesians 2:10

Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these.
John 14:12

1 Kings 19:19-21
“So Elijah went from there and found Elisha son of Shaphat.”

He was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen, and he himself was driving the twelfth pair. Elijah went up to him and threw his cloak [mantle] around him. Elisha then left his oxen and ran after Elijah. ‘Let me kiss my father and mother goodbye’ he said, ‘and then I will come with you.’ …So Elisha left him and went back. He took his yoke of oxen and slaughtered them. He burned the plowing equipment to cook the meat and gave it to the people, and they ate. Then he set out to follow Elijah and became his attendant.

“So Elijah went from there and found Elisha son of Shaphat.”

Often, God calls us to do the same thing with a new passion and purpose.

I have come that they may have life and have it to the full John 10:10

Jesus said, Anyone who has faith in me will do greater things. John 14:12

God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 1 Corinthians 1:27

“Elisha then left his oxen and ran after Elijah. ‘Let me kiss my father and mother good-by,’ he said, ‘and then I will come with you.”

You’re being called to follow one much greater than Elijah.

Complacency, acceptance, and boredom, are the enemies of greatness.

Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. Luke 9:23

The reality is that we will never become who God wants us to be if we are unwilling to let go of where we are right now

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Matthew 6:33
